The telephone rings, a jarring noise despite the Bobby McFerrin ring tone, and the interruption of this rhythmatic silence makes her body ache. She reaches for the phone but hesitates. Her music is loud and in a couple hours, as the night seeps in, a neighbor will come and knock and ask her politely to turn it down. It happens every night. I Am Sick.

Not of anything, just plain sick and whiny (oh hey hey what's new). This is what I get for hanging around a bunch of kids. But the scariest part was, yesterday? I got sick, right? But the day BEFORE (that's Friday, people, keep up!) because of some issues we do not need to get into I had informed my doctor about and he told me that if I started running a fever to get to the hospital immediately. So, I'm like, holy shit! Cos I've had the sniffles for like a week or so and I could just have the flu, and I don't want a million dollar hospital bill to have some bitch-ass nurse tell me I have the flu, but what if it ISN'T the flu and I don't
